First things first, let me say that I know I'm NOT the absolute greatest with grammar usage!
Now with that being said, I would just like to point out that there has been a lot, an I mean A LOT of poor grammar usage on the forums here lately. I know some of it is caused by the younger members of the airsoft community, but come on there is no for for such poor use. What I mean by this is all of the misspelling, not capitalizing "I" and other common sense of vocabulary.
What I'm trying to get at is fan we please start to try and clean up and rid our forums of poor grammar? I know that this may seem small, but when a newcomer stumbles upon our forum and sees how poorly edited some threads are, it makes the forum and community members look bad.
Sorry for the rant, but I felt it was necessary.

Yes. This and people need to stop complaining when they get corrected. Either have the patience to write a quality post or be prepared to take constructive criticism.
I have also seen really young members of the forum get all bent out of shape and start pouting over corrections that were made in a kind and gentle manner. Angsty teen crap like that needs to be left in the school cafeteria.
The rules are simple and they are few. Follow them and the quality of this forum and it's content will increase.

I've mostly seen it with the younger guys, too, but have also seen it with a few members who have been on AofK and know that many of us want a forum with proper grammar and spelling. I've also small and unnecessary conversations between younger members that could have been PMs. I remember when I was a moderator on AofK I spent most of my time on the forum fixing members' posts if they had spelling/grammar errors.. A lot of peoples' posts had "Last edited by Ratchet" haha.

I agree chubbs, even though you have spelling and grammar issues. Before posting on a forum, social network site, email or the like I check my grammar and spelling. My secret, I write everything in word first. I open two windows, and then copy and paste after running spell check/grammar check. Microsoft word isn’t perfect but for the most part it will do for most things.

I think it would help to if we had mods that have time to address the issues. It seems that all the mods that address problems are rarely on.

What many people don't realize is that every post on the forum is representative of the community as a whole. When people make posts with half-thoughts and fragmentented sentences, it reflects badly on Kalamazoo Airsoft.

I spend a good amount of time on here, and I have experience on the "other forum". If the staff needs any help moderating this site I'll help.

My only suggestion for any member turned Moderator is that you are relentless in your moderation of grammar rules. Warnings, temporary bans, and full bans are all fair game in my book. One of my biggest pet peeves is when posters argue back against Moderators enforcing rules. The rules were set in place by individuals with more authority than you (the poster). You are a guest on the forum, and as a guest you are to follow the rules. If you can't do that, get out. Period.
Personally, I don't even think I could moderate. With the poor representation of even the most fundamental grammar rules lately, I feel as if I would use my ban hammer till it broke.

I'm with legionnaire on this.
One of the only ways to make people follow the rules is give out warnings, temporary bans and permanent bans. If I were a mod I would've broken multiple ban hammers.

The problem I have is that when I do correct peoples grammar, most of the time it is met with backlash on me and how I am doing something wrong. Granted I dont care half the time, but the tone I got from the forums for the longest time is that people didnt care enough to do anything about it.
But you better believe that I will be watching out more closely from now on. I am not going to go grammar nazi on anyones ass, but coherent sentences are a requirement from now on.
