Alright guys, the day is here! The Opening Ceremony for the 2012 Summer Olympics is occurring as I'm creating this. As most of you know I love covering sports and staying updated with them, but most people enjoy the Olympics.
I know I'm gonna be busy this year with a few events! I'm watching Brazil's soccer team especially since they have Neymar, both US men's and women's gymnastics, US women's soccer, and many others if I feel like watching the Games.
So what events are you excited to watch this year?! Are you rooting for Michael Phelps as he swims to make history? See if Usan Bolt can remain as the 100m and 200m gold medalist from 2008? Track and Field? One of the biggest events for the United States is the basketball (of course
) as we compete with yet another Dream Team.I think the best thing about international sporting events like the Olympics and the World Cup is that for the duration of the event nothing else in the World seems to matter. We seem to forget about foreign affairs, economic situations, etc. That's why I love sports so much. It highlights the best part of humanity.
