We tried that out at Vicksburg Tactical and it was a blast. The hardest part was (as a Ref.) picking the wolf for each team without the others knowing.
The funniest thing was one player turned around when the signal was given and shot Loony cause he thought he was the wolf. I yelled out "TK". Loony was pissed cause it was his last life.

You could just stnad the team facing one side with their eyes closed and have a ref walk down the line softly touching the "wolf on the shoulder. Making no noise or inclination as to whom they touched. I think that would be an effective way to choose. If you get someone with super hearing you can just tell the line to plug their ears as well.  |

Or you could do it while everyone is watching by handing out playing cards. Have everyone stand in a circle facing each other then hand them all cards. The cards would be deuce through ten except for one face card - face card being the wolf. People would need to learn how to cultivate their poker faces. Once all the cards are passed out and everyone sees what they are, the cards get handed back to the ref. |
