Gomez..the next man on my international hit list lol. The Portuguese deflection allowed him to get the shot on target. So far, the Netherlands v. Denmark game was the most shocking. There was no way the Dutch should've lost. Matic- now you better hope that the Germans will knock the Netherlands out of the tournament in their next game! Up next tomorrow- Group C kicks off with 1st game: Spain vs. Italy and 2nd game: Ireland vs. Croatia. Scores tomorrow!

Still rooting for Ireland. They have a pretty solid line up this year. The game just ended. Ireland didn't play well against Croatia. I think they'll get knocked out of the tourny in their next game because they play Spain next. Conclusion of the 1st 3 DaysTop Teams of Groups A, B, C StandingsGroup A Russia- 4 goals Group B Denmark- 1 goal Germany- 1 goal Group C Croatia- 3 goals ______________________ So far this is looking like an amazing tourny. I've been happy with the outcomes so far (except for Portugal). Probably the biggest surprise to me was how bad Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal) did on his first game. With a record of 60 goals w/ Real Madrid this season I thought he would be the Man of the Match against Germany, but he only got 14 touches on the ball. Hopefully he can step it up against Denmark. Germany did fairly well against Portugal. A 1:0 score was better than 0:0, but since Germany is the team that is favored to win the UEFA I'm sure a lot of fans wanted a higher score. We'll see if they can pull it off. The Spain vs. Italy game was exciting. Seeing as they were the last 2 World Cup champions everyone knew that they would play very well, which they did. Spain, though, wasn't playing like they were when they won the World Cup. Top teams like the Netherlands and Italy have figured out how to take on Spain. I was surprised that Spain only put Torres in in the last minutes. By then it was too late because he had no effect. Once Italy brought in De Natale just after half-time the game really started to shape up. I wasn't disappointed with the score of 1:1 because of the two teams' statuses.

End of June 18!
Tomorrow's games are for Group D. The first game is Sweden vs. France and England vs. Ukraine.
After those games end tomorrow night the Knockout Stage begins! Teams either win and continue or lose and go home. This is when the UEFA tournament starts to get exciting (unless your team loses in the first game)!!
The first set of games in the Knockout Stage are part of the Quarter Finals. The very first game is Czech Republic vs. Portugal (the team I'm rooting for)!!

Quater Finals A.A.R. Today was the closing of the Quarter Final Stage of the tournament. I must say that the results were pretty accurate to my predictions! Unfortunately, I wasn't able to watch any of games because I've been busy with other things so I can't give my take on the games. The first game was between the Czech Republic and Portugal. I was obviously been rooting for Portugal, but the Czech Republic isn't on the same level as Portugal so I wasn't expecting the Czechs to win. It looks like Cristiano Ronaldo is getting his shots on target and making contact with the net now. Just in time to compete against Spain! The 2nd match was between Germany and Greece, and there was no competition. Germany killed the Greeks with a 4:2 score. I think everyone knew that Germany would win without any trouble. Spain and France played on June 23 making it the 3rd Quarter Final match. After the incidents at the 2010 South Africa World Cup I knew France would hesitate through this UEFA. I mean they did lose to South Africa... The final score was Spain 2:0 France. A great win for Spain, but a pitiful lose for the French. Today's match was between "The Three Lions" and Italia with Italy taking the victory. I really wanted Italy to win over England. England, in my opinion, is plateauing and has been since the 2010 World Cup. Italy is a team that is still hanging in there. While they haven't claimed a major title recently they're still a fantastic team. They need to work on their offense and get more accurate with their shots. ______________________ Now the Semi-Finals begin on June 27 at 1:45pm CST! The first game is between Portugal vs. Spain!

UEFA 2012 Final July 1Spain 4:0 Italy ______________________ Spain Takes the ChampionshipThis was a great UEFA Cup! There were excellent matches in every stage of the tournament. The match that surprised me the most was the Germany vs. Italy Semi Final game. Germany was expected to destroy every team they played, but even in soccer anything's possible. I was shocked when the socreboard read Germany 0:2 Italy at Full Time!! I was slightly disappointed with the Championships, though, because I'm kind of a fan of Italy over Spain. Once David Silva (ESP) got the header and Jordi Alba (ESP) got a goal in the First Half I stopped watching the game lol. I wasn't surprised when Spain placed Torres at the 2nd Half (seeing as that's pretty much a routine tactic of theirs). This time it paid off because at 84" he scored followed by Juan Mata (ESP) who scored at 88"! Italy played how I thought they would. They had plenty of opportunites to score, but they seemed out of it resulting in all misses. They also failed to rush Spain's defense, which was strong anyways. Italy's defense was decent, but they felt Buffon (GK) by himself a lot, which is when Spain found the opportunities to score. If you Spain fans wanna talk smack you should thank Italy for knocking Germany out of the tournament because Germany would've crushed Spain. Congratulations though to Spain on their 3rd consecutive major title victory. That's a huge accomplishment even for the best of teams. They've won the 2008 UEFA, 2010 World Cup: South Africa, and now the 2012 UEFA. This was really fun to follow for me. I'll be back for the 2014 World Cup hosted by Brazil where Spain has the chance to defend their title against the rest of the World! Until next time goodbye for now! (Practicing for when I become a sports commentator )
