Was thinking of something nice and figured I'de throw it out there. I'm not around there too often but I like to be apart of imprvements and helping in any way. so here goes:
4-man squad tactical tournements. When you do these would ultamitly be up to the hosts but I figured maybe once a month or every other month.
It can be structured in any way really. one team vs. one team, giant free for all squad combat. Oblectives operations etc. Winner would obviously get some sort of prize/recognition (Such as winning team gets $5 off next game they attend).
Main reason I'm throwing this out is that I see alot of people who are a part or have started a clique or group and like shooting with those people. This can give them and others something to shoot for.
Thanks for listening.

If we do these Tournaments, they will be Tiered. There will be different levels of competition. Its not worth a dime if a seasoned team goes against a a newly formed team and dominates them. It helps no one. Their also will be criteria that will have to be met for scoring. For example:
Squad leadership Squad tactics Completion of objects Completion of objectives within give time.

We should do U-16 tourneys to. My team would LOVE that.

How do you gauge the skill level of a team though?

Maybe qualifying weekend or something? That would be sweet.

Like I said the structure would be up to the people running it. The idea of tourneys would bring more people I think.

Kalamazoo Airosft has put my team in charge of running any and all milsim events hosted by Kalamazoo Airsoft.
As far as gauging a team. We could have a weekend, where we run every team through the same course and they all are graded by the same standards. Then compile the results and have them Tiered by how they finish said course.
We will work on this and have more information once we meet to discuss it further.
Thanks Six

A similar squad tournament was held by airsoft of kalamazoo last year. I agree that pitting teams with equal skill against each other is the best course of action. It is really fun and with the scoring that six provided, it can be judged fairly. These types of things promote teamwork and communication which is KEY to success in airsoft.
Thumbs up from me.

Just my 2 cents.
If you did a 4 man bracketed tourny have a U-16 division and a open/pro division?

Problem is there is no "pro" teams. We could setup the divisions for teams that are made up of prior military/LEO and such. As for U-16 teams we would need more then just one. We would need at least 4 to run a true event for this.

How about when we host an event like a squad pistol competition I have been cooking up. Maybe two divisions Novice and Seasoned. When the team signs up they have the option to pick which division they fall under. If they sign up for Novice and we deem them more Seasoned then the other squads, we bump them up to make it fair for the Novice entrees. Prizes could consist of Trophies (for bragging rights) and bag of BB's for each person on the winning team. Runner up trophies for second place.

I say leave it in Six's hands to get everything for this together. Then we can run a few tests and see how it goes.

I'll will be meeting with the guys from TAG to put several different tactical events together. You will be able to find those in the Kalamazoo Airsoft Events section.

This all looks like a great idea! The idea of having both novice and veteran brackets should make it a really enjoyable event. However, they should be run on different days, that way teams are not standing around waiting too much.
