I think it would be really sweet to have a game mode just like the ACA(Association of Competitive Airsoft). For examples things like the class systems and the game modes. This is the class system for the ACA. Of course you can't use some of these classes but we could modify the classes if we wanted to but these would be cool. With the exception of the FPS limit. www.acairsoft.com/class-systemThese are the game modes used from the ACA. All objective based games. If you would like to modify these modes, it wouldn't matter. www.acairsoft.com/approved-games

This could work for a mini milsim event at KA. Any extras on the team could just be soldiers without the special abilities. We would have to cap the entries at 50 or so to promote the ability to move around. I like your thinking though Phreak. I will show Chad this.

Me and Shad were hoping to play in the ACA's one day. I thought this is as close as we could get to it. We thought that it would be cool to have something like this because they mostly play on CQB fields.
The way I was hoping for it to go out was that say 20 people came. We would split them up into 5 man teams, making 4 teams. The teams go head to head on those game types. 2 teams go out and the other teams stay in the staging area and get ready for their game. After the 2 teams are done playing their game you bring the other teams in a do like a tournament style way.
Like I said we can modify this so we have like 6 man teams or 4 if we have to. That was just my thought on it.

Its like a basic team tournament, but the games are objective based and the people have to be specific classes.

I'm really ambivalent about this kind of thing. On the one hand, after looking at the rules set, it seems like it could be a lot of fun. It's basically making a video game into a live action game, so that's awesome. On the other hand, I'm really wary of bringing competition of this kind into airsoft at all. Yes, there's competition now because clearly there are two or more teams to a game and someone has to win and someone has to lose, but when you start bringing points into it and a very clear rules set, the less desirable aspects of people tend to come out. Like cheating.
I suppose I'm gun-shy from when I used to play paintball and it had gotten to the point where wiping (cheating) was largely accepted. Cheating was ok because that's what the refs were for and if you could get away with it, good for you. I would hate to see that kind of mentality creep into airsoft. I know most of the people playing now - especially at the airhouse - are big on honesty and not cheating, but competition can make people assholes.
I have no idea how things would actually shake out, but I'm concerned. I know, though, that those concerns are based on past experience in a different (though analogous) sport.

I know what your saying about the competition part of it. It is really meant for fun we don't have to do a tourney style type but I thought it would be cool.
Also about the cheating part their is nothing you are going to do about that. All you have to do is tell the ref like the rules on the website.

I have a very big tie already to the ACA. I keep in touch with the people that run it alot. Ran it a few times. Alot of fun and well worth it in my eyes. Sadly thou it's still growing and alot of people have mixed feelings on it. I think its a great thing for Airsoft gives more options and support to our sport.
