I think Shift, Shamrock, Gunny, and Mav hit the nail on the head with this one. I think requiring people to modify there guns (which in the case of Shamrock or people with lower-end guns, could be very costly. Or in the case of gas guns, impossible) is mildly ridiculous (sorry if I am being a bit rude here).
Trigger discipline is the way to go, tell refs to listen for overly long bursts, and encourage players to remind people that are getting a bit to hyped up on the trigger to cool off, and the problem is solved.
Thats my opinion.
And by the way Legend, if everyone is wearing face protection, then a high-cap to the face isn't gonna do a lot, except for maybe damaging said face protection.

I don't care if you are wearing face protection a bb to the face still stings like hell. But in my opinion and this is only for the polar star users trigger control is a key facter but when you are shooting 30+ rps one tap on the trigger is 10 bb's to the chest before the person can even yelp. I just think that many rps is a little excessive. I know I for one used to hate Gunny before he toned his gun down and he's my teammate. ;P

Shadow, Care to volunteer to prove your point? It was really a half-hearted joke. Even if we make a semi-only rule, you have to realize there will still be people that complain about being over-killed. Personally, I shoot the target until I hear an audible "HIT", "OUT", or any substitute curse-word and/or some sort of hand/gun in the air. It's really not that hard to recognize someone that's been shot.

This is why I have a MOSFET in my AEG's and are set for 3-5round burst.
As for trigger control, I agree alot of that needs to be taught and then enforced.

Yeah Legend I guess that didn't come out right, but I was following up on said joke.
And motofan, not if your wearing a facemask, or goggles and a mesh mask, which anything less for CQB is a bad idea.

Also, not trying to make anyone mad but putting to many rules in plays makes it difficult to just enjoy the sport itself. Not saying rules are bad you need some but to much of anything is bad.

Shadow If you took time to read my post I said "even with face protection getting shot in the face still hurts". Even with my half mask a bb from under 5 feet away stings like hell although it wont leave a mark.

Wait I thought the mesh stopped the BB from getting through and then you don't feel anything. I could be wrong, I use a Save Phace full facemask, so all I would get is a loud THWACK.

Motofan130 if you get shot in the facemask and it hurts you might want to look into a different mask simple fix if you ask me. As for the RPS limit it sounds kind of silly (no offense) 3-5 round burst is the way to go the sting of being hit is just part of the game and if you don't like being hit then don't play simple as that.

I think you should just keep the 3-5 round burst rule. why does it matter how much time it takes for each round to hit. its how many hits you take that matters.

I believe the solution to this situation is not more rules, but a greater emphasis on player responsibility and trigger discipline. this is true, keep the same rules, but stop shooting once you hit them, if your gun shoots out 20+ learn to control it
