Single shot only FTW Sent from my DROID2 GLOBAL using ProBoards Yes. Win. In my personal opinion. It should be semi fire only indoors. Some guns have such a high rate of fire, you will begin to lose count on how many bb's are chambered, and launched. Semi fire will also imply that you need to stay more tactical and pick your shots. Outdoors, on the otherhand, should allow full auto. That area is much more open, and not congested. Just my two-cents What about the people, like myself, who's guns do not perform consistently on semi auto? Should they be excluded? As far as losing track of how many shots you have put out, if that is not something you can easily mentally index, you need to spend more time getting familiar with your gun. This is an easy fix, guys. Teach trigger discipline. It will go better for the community than creating even more rules that are going to take time and effort to enforce.

I was only saying semi-auto for an example. A good goal to set is between 3 and 5 round bursts. This will help with the high rate of fire issue but wont penalize other people. Saying 3 to five helps too because with a really high rate of fire on a gun, sometimes just tapping the trigger lets of 4 or 5 rounds.

Buy a tri-burst shotgun, or a pistol. Either will suffice, and increase mobility. I would say learn trigger control, but when adrenaline kicks in, it can get difficult, and people will get extensively pissed off if they are lit up.

This will be one of those really touchy subjects and hard areas to inforce. No matter what, one side is going to be pissed. But i agree 100% learn trigger control, or get a semi-auto weapon

Or grow a pair and take an entire high cap to the skull like a champ. Problem solved.

I have said my piece and I am sticking to it. Rather than babying people by forcing them to further alter their guns (see spring change) we should be encouraging them to be responsible and considerate players. What the people need to understand is; when you play Airsoft at Airsoft of Kalamazoo you WILL be shot multiple times at once. It is the nature of the game.
Furthermore, blaming adrenaline for poor weapon malipulation seems like a leaky debate point.

I think that putting a limit on RPS is not a good thing at all. I have been running my m4 at 38 RPS for well over a year now and have never had any complaints. Heck, even my gun isnt that fast compared to a lot of the other tuned guns around now. People are getting their guns up around the 50-70 RPS marks with no issues. The entire reason I built a gun with such high ROF is to get quick semi trigger response. However, with the trigger response comes a high ROF, no getting around that. But as others have said, all that needs to be done is to enforce the burst rule. I will put in more thoughts later, but this will suffice for now

Your probably waiting for my response to this. If anyone wonders. I checked my gun yesterday with the chrono and it is shooting 22-23 rps at 295 fps. I have a stock kwa SR7 that shoots 27-28 rps on just a 9.6 battery. I can program the polar star anywhere from 2 to 9 round burst. When I first got the gun, I had it jacked way up to 40 rps. Everyone hated me. Just the sound with an amplifier would cause people to call hits. Me and Tino messed around with it for a few games and agreed that 40 was little excessive. So i set it where it is at now. Even with it at 40 rps I still could tap the trigger for only one shot. As Shamrock has stated it is called trigger control. I know a certain AEG on the field shoots around 35
With that being said I think the solution is for the refs to enforce 3 to 5 round burst in side and be strict about it. I will gladly program my gun for 3 round burst. It will kinda suck for outside but there has to be a compromise somewhere. CQB airsoft is a pretty violent sport. I expect to get the crap shot out of me when I play. That is what I love about the game. That is where the adrenaline rush comes from. I would never purposely try to hurt anyone at the air house ( I drew blood on a guys finger today and I felt horrible about it. But he should probably ben wearing padded gloves).
I would like to see one pistol only (or semi only if you don't have a pistol) game each week.
See you later.................in my sights

Great feedback guys. This is the kind of response that will help.
The point about trigger discipline helped a lot. Now that we have some good feedback to chew on, we can get a decisionon made faster.
Personally I agree we don't need another limit rule added. We just need to get strick about the 3 to 5rd burst rule.
Loony, Infidel, and will discuss this Sunday (today).

Even if rules become more enforced about trigger discipline and 3-5rnd bursts, there will always be that one guy (or gal) that cant get it right. Sure, getting stricter on the enforcement of the rule is nice. But, you have to remember that in order to become stricter, the problem first has to arise.
Semi Only to me seems like the best choice for indoor play. As for outdoor, full auto is perfectly fine. In my opinion, nothing teaches trigger discipline like the restriction of semi only. For those of you that dont have a semi capable rifle, I find that ridiculous to be honest. With more and more CQB fields turning to semi only (granted you may not play at those places) it seems strange to me that you wouldnt have the ability for semi auto. When it comes down to it, whether people like to believe it or not. Semi auto is all you really NEED. One well placed shot does just as much damage as 3-5 or however many bb's come out your barrel. Semi auto eliminates the problem of overkill almost completely. While bursts/full auto only gives way for more frustration with people complaining about "that was more than a 3-5rnd burst!". Without a ref on each player, there is no real way to police the burst rule.

Well I personally have aug which yes has a semi- fire select but sometime with a slip of the finger i get 2 shots, so I can't be like a m4 which can stay on semi no matter how hard you hold down the trigger. I do think its a smart idea however I feel a three round burst is just as good.

I have to agree with Shamrock, Gunny, and Maverick on this. It's not about the tool, it's about the tool's user. Trigger control needs to be emphasized. It has to be emphasized by the refs, but also by our fellow players. I know there are gonna be times when even good intentioned people are gonna get hopped up on adrenaline and lay on the trigger for a while (just about everyone's done it, myself included), and at those times, a reminder from a teammate that 3-5 round bursts are the rule, will probably do a lot to cement it in that person's mind.
If worst comes to worst, semi-auto only indoors would be a distant second as a solution, in my opinion.
Edit: Also, because "Polarstar RPS" is in the subject line, something to keep in mind is that in terms of absolute rates of fire, the Polarstar Fusion Engine will top out at about 45 rps while AEG's can get tuned to reliably run at 50-70 rps, like Maverick said. The difference is that it takes less work to make a P* FE max out (like, zero work).
