In the current Maruzen P99 mag shortage, I resorted to modifying some P99C mags to fit into my standard Maruzen P99. After these mods, they work perfectly unless you push them too far into the chamber when the slide is back; then, the gas release valve gets hit and starts venting gas.
Even with this inconvenience, it's still a cool and functional trick.

Overall, WORTH IT! Since I wasn't able to find any standard P99 mags at a good price or in stock (especially both), these modded mags make a terrific substitution. If you cut the BB follower spring a little shorter and maybe chopped the spring guide section of the follower a bit, you could probably fit a couple more rounds in if you really wanted.
