Starting to use LiPo's

Alright so I'm looking to start using LiPo batteries and I had a few questions. Are the rumors really true? what I mean by that is do lipos really "blow up" and start fires? Secondly would G&G stock gears and stock parts hold up to the extra stress or do I need to upgrade internals? What is a good brand for lipos and what is a good charger? I really don't want to use an 11.1v but i might consider it. I would like to use a buffer tube 7.4v. on a nearly completely stock gearbox and 9.6v battery with deans and a JG blue motor my gun shoots 18.4 - 20.1 bbs a second. That is my main reason to ask if my internals should be upgraded. Also I would appreciate any and all extra helpful information! I would also be more than happy to buy batteries and chargers from someone here on the forums for a good deal. These are the batteries and chargers I was looking at:

Buy a 7.4 from any online hobby shop. Airsoft stores are grossly overpriced.

Then get your gun and battery wired to deans.

As long as you are running a 7.4v, deans would be the only upgrade that you really need. I personally (used to) run a JG blue motor with deans, a good shim job, sorbo pad + AoE corrected, on a stock g&g gearbox. That setup had the quickest trigger response I have ever seen on an AEG. To answer one of your questions, pretty much any stock gearbox can hold up to a 7.4 lipo. When you start using 11.1 lipos, you need a MOSFET to prevent trigger arcing.

Why not just go to a hobby shop and ask these questions, plus they will have everything you need to get started.

Gost: I wasn't getting pissy, he really wasn't giving much information that was beneficial other than to not buy from airsoft stores.
Max: there are no hobby stores near where I live that sell lipos and chargers.

LiPo bags really aren't necessary, just have the common sense not to charge your LiPo on flammable material. Plus I've never known a single one of any of my friends to have a lipo catch on fire or anything crazy. As long as you have a good charger, you should be pretty safe.
