Okay, so I (After several trades) again have a p90 with a 1500 round box/M4 mag system. Am I held to the same requirement to remove my mag and clear my chamber? If I did that would make quite a mess.

As you would need to take the hi-cap out of the mag conversion, and put your replica on safe, as for empting the bb's out of the chamber of the conversion, I would say no.

Rules are in place for a reason. We can't make exceptions for one player.

That is true, however he is asking due to the Mag conversion he has on his P90. I will post a pic of what he is talking about for better understanding.
However you can just pop the conversion off while in the safe zone, then there is not a problem, you will not even need to remove the mag from the conversion.

One possible way around this could be to use a barrel bag like they do for paintball. I think Loony mentioned something this weekend about making them mandatory anyway.

This topic seems to be going on longer than needed. Mag needs to be out before you get in the safe area. Not concerned with how many bb's you lose in the process. If its that big of an issue, find another weapon. Besides, who uses a box mag for cqb?
Again, mag out before you get in the safe area.
Thanks.

If the mag out, chamber empty rule can't be complied with, then you need a barrel condom. I will speak for my cohorts here and give you the ok to use a barrel condom if you don't want to empty your magazine and barrel. Have the condom on your barrel before you enter the staging area, and you are ok.

I see what Six is saying, We can not have certain rules for different people, Everyone must pull the mag, clear the chamber and go to safety before entering the safe zone.
We MUST have a meeting on this Friday. I may have jumped the gun a little by announcing barrel condoms will be mandatory in the future. But I do feel they are safe so we need to discuss this further.
And just for the record, I put a barrel sock on and shot a three round burst and the sock hardly flinched, they are meant for paintball which shoots a heavier round and actually they work quite well.
More on this later...

They work well, but it will be a real pain for those of us that bring multiple guns, as well as customer guns, ect. I know it is a safety issue and safety comes before all else, but there havent been any issues so far that I am aware of.
It may be best just to post a ref at the door at the end of each game, and make sure that all players mag out and clear as they walk in.

I agree with Six and Maverick, mag out, clear chamber, simple. Let's not redesign the wheel, because someone wants to use m4 mags in his P90........simple solution, leave your weapon in the play area if you don't want to mess with the box mag every time.

I think the idea of a barrel bag is a good one regardless. Yes, it could be a pain for some people, but they cost $0.99 at Evike and I'm pretty sure I saw them in the display case for sale at the Airhouse when I was there last week.
Here's the thing, it takes zero effort to put on and take off and it adds a level of safety. For those that work in manufacturing, it's like wearing your PPE (Personal Protective Equipment - like safety glasses or steel toed boots). You try to put implement as much safety as you can through safe action, but when the shiz hits the fan and something happens that's not supposed to, you still have this last layer of protection. That's how I feel about barrel condoms.
Yes, the chances of a BB being left in the firing mechanism with the magazine out is very slim, but it could happen. And people forget to put their gun on safe (I know I've done it a few times). All it takes is one time of the perfect confluence of these factors for someone to lose an eye and the Airhouse getting sued by someone's insurance company. People get flagged by other peoples' muzzles all the time in the safe area. I get the heeby-jeebies every time I see a muzzle pointed at me in the safe area because I can't tell for sure there's no BB stuck in the hop and I don't know if their weapon is safe. With a barrel condom, you can see that the defensive barrier is there.
Am I saying barrel bags should mean we no longer have to safe our replicas and take the magazines out? Not necessarily. I'm actually more comfortable having all of the above. But if it's tested thoroughly and deemed safe, it could be an option (this would obviously be up to the business owners). I know it will be inconvenient for some, but it's a lot less inconvenient that someone losing an eye.
Sorry for the long winded post. It kind of got away from me.
