A Supreme Court decision you haven't heard about I bet.
United States v. Miller 1939
Miller possessed a sawed-off shotgun banned under the National Firearms Act. He argued that he had a right to bear the weapon under the 2nd Amendment, but the Supreme Court ruled against him. Why? At the time, sawed-off shotguns were not being used in a military application, and the Court that since it didn't, it was not protected. Even thought Miller lost that argument, the Miller case set the precedent that protected firearms have a military, and thus legitimate and protected militia use. The military now use shotguns regularly, but not very short, sawed-off shotguns, but an AR-15/AK-47 type weapon is currently in use by the military, therefore it is a protected weapon for the unorganized militia, which includes just about every American now that both age and sex discrimination are illegal ( The original militia included men of age 17-45). Therefore any firearm that is applicable to military use is clearly protected under the 2nd Amendment, and that includes all those "nasty-looking" semi-automatic (And if you want to get technical automatic) black rifles, including full 30 round magazines.

Thank you for this point. Excuse the language but stupid *oops* Obama... For thinking taking weapons away will reduce murders & crime rates in the US... I find that it will cause the opposite of what was intended.

What people don't get is the 2nd amendment isn't for hunting or to keep crime down, it is to protect the people form a tyrannical government, and any government that wants to outlaw guns is a outlaw government. The rest is just a bonus. Look at Russian they took the guns from the people, then came the "revolution" 60,000,000 people were murdered in between 1917 and 1987. Don't try to tell me it can't happen here because this is America and things like that don't happen here, it took a lot of brave men's blood to give us are freedom, and it looks like most people are willing to give it up. I believe it was Thomas Jefferson who said " Those who would give up freedom for security deserve and will get neither"
