Just a question has anyone shot a M4? AK? SCAR? ACR? I'm not talking civilian models either... Shot the following AK-47,74 SCAR-L and ACR, All Military Grades. Hell Sunshine you should be able to get your hands on a few of these your self.

I've shot all and more. I was just asking cause I was assuming we were talking real steel, and just wanted to see if anyone knew the recoil of the AK vs. an M4.

Shot a M&P 15, 300 blackout SBR, and a AR 10 and a few others, so I know the recoil.

As for real steel ill take a M4 all day in 5.56mm. You can send more follow up shots down range. Now I do love the ACR. Why the option to change what you want to shoot out it is a major plus. The recoil feels close to the same as the M4. The ACR is a true monster. You cant tell what kinda firepower range it has till its to late. (Speaking if facing one due to be able to shoot alot of different rounds)

Is also an M4 platform, and yes it can take the 6.08 round as well, just like the SCAR is built around the 5.56 round as well. Please tell me what makes the ACR/Massada so much better? I was just kiddin around. But aside from the ACR I'd go M4 do to the modularity and what sunshine said.....It's American made which is what we need more of in this point in time. So yes.......M4/M16 variants all the way, don't get me wrong the ak is a nice firearm iv'e just never been crazy over them.

The main problem with the ak is that it is outdated. It's not as modular as other weapon systems. Keep in mind that the weapon is a daniel defense gun. Its not a stock AR

Just a question has anyone shot a M4? AK? SCAR? ACR? I'm not talking civilian models either... M4 and m16a3 are the only rifles I've shot other than hunting rifles. I have however shot a plethora of pistols. M9, 1911, M&P40, multiple revolvers etc. I loved having a marine as a brother in law. Too bad my sister and him are no longer together..

I'm with Sunshine and Sham on this one. ;D I have a friend that is an AK fanboy, and personally I just don't like the platform as much. I respect it as a very fine weapon system for it's time, but it is just to outdated and the 47 can't hit the broad side of a barn.
That said, I haven't found out if the 74 is more accurate of not.

The statement of "the AK platform is not accurate" is not true, if you train/practice with that weapon system than a 300 yard shot or even further can be made without much effort. Granted the AK series of rifles is not as accurate as the AR 15 family, but like I said a person that has been properly trained on the weapon can make accurate shots on target.

I am not a fan of the platform either, but this makes it seem pretty nice.

Would anyone know how the HK-416/417 family competes with the M4? Like if it's better or something just along those lines :I. Just have always wondered.

It has a piston gas system instead if a inpingment system. Meaning it uses an AK inspired gas system.

Bringing it from the dead!
I can hit a target from 500 yards with an m4 9/10 times. Also the stock of the M4 take the recoil of the rifle more directly than the AK does meaning I can keep my shots on target more because the rifle comes back more directly into my shoulder.
