Hey everyone. Has anyone else heard about Congress protesting Zero Dark Thirty? Recent reports claim that Congress is protesting the movie because it shows a (I assume graphic) scene of Americans conducting the torture known as waterboarding on enemy prisoners. Congress claims that the scene is incorrect in that the CIA never did such acts to prisoners. Back between 2006-2007 CIA was accused of committing waterboarding on "extrajudicial prisoners", but I don't know if they were ever found guilty.
I want to know if you guys have any opinions on this protest by Congress and does it change your opinion on the movie? I'm certainly still interested in it and will most likely end up seeing it.
(If I missed out any important and relevant detail/ information please feel free to add them in)

Shouldn't congress be concerning themselves with "congressional" issues as opposed to a movie made for entertainment?
Write them a letter telling them to get back to work.

I agree I bleave there are more concerning issues to attend to. I remember hearing the CIA openly admitted to using water boarding on three Al-Qaeda suspects In 2002-2003 they stated they didn't bleave it was actually a form of torture which it is. Water boarding can cause damage to the lungs and brain do to oxygen deprivation, but I've looked on the Internet and I can't find any instances were the CIA have used it since which means they stopped doing it or they are just covering it up. (wouldn't surprise me)

Special Forces do a far less severe version of waterboarding as part of their survivor training. I've seen it done and it's not even bad, but they've shown it.

The government pulled the same act with BlackHawk Down on how it's too realistic or some BS like that, I say keep it in the movie so it shows that war isn't so over glorified thing that is fun.
