ya, and i bet obama planed Sandy ;P but florida wasnt register as voted, and a lot of New York was without power, we should have held the elections until there was power. but ya, what ratchet said, plus, obama is going to cut the military spending, which im going into. i dont want my future job to be cut before im in it just saying obama will only make our country a little worse, he raised our debt by half and that was in four years when he promised he will lower it. I just see obama as a lier and wants to hide a lot. and funny that doc brouht up syria, i saw pictures today of that war and i didnt even know about it until today. heres the link, forewarned, some graphic pictures... www.theatlantic.com/infocus/2012/11/syria-in-ruins/100402/o agree with doc 100% but i hope he isnt right about our debt and such as of right now, each tax payer owes 140,000... or 186 polarstars

@ Doc (I made a slight mistake here, all of these bills have been passed, however, they did face heavy opposition from republican legislators.)
(I will edit this list to show that these bills have passed, also I will add a couple of bills that have actually been blocked. I apologize for my mistake)
Here are the bills that republican legislators attempted to block:
The Small Business Jobs Act (blocked once), gives local banks access to billions of dollars to loan to small businesses,
The Jobs Bill, gives tax incentives to companies hiring new employees,
Wall Street Reform, puts stricter regulations on banks, and curbs the reckless spending that caused the banking crisis,
and the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (republican legislators are trying to take credit for this bill after opposing it).
Here are some of the bills that have been blocked:
Health Care for 9/11 first responders, would have provided health care for 9/11 first responders that have become sick,
Veterans' Jobs bill,
Oil Spill Liability,
Political Ad disclosure bill (blocked twice).
I will post more info about these bills soon.

@ Doc Here are a few of the the bills that Republicans either attempted to block or have blocked: The Small Business Jobs Act, The Jobs Bill, Wall Street Reform, and the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. I think you now need to provide summaries of these bills as well as links to where we can read the whole bill. Also, a list of the names of people who voted for/against the bills with their party affiliations.

>Airsofters can't be politically informed? >This isn't the 'general' section of the forum? >The mods have left this thread alone and not locked or deleted?
I used to be against anything political being discussed on these forums, then I remembered that most of the people who have these discussions in the first place are adults and capable of civilized discussion.
If talking about what goes on in the world makes anyone uncomfortable then you might want to just skip over these posts.
Besides that, nobody so far on these threads has advocated any far left or right wing ideologies that encourage illegal or anarchic behavior so lets remain civil and enjoy the discourse.

LOL sunshine!
It seems I have some catching up to do on this thread.
I will begin by saying I'm sorry for not getting that info up about those bills. I've been really busy this week, and I haven't been able to find names for who voted on the bills. I have, however, been able to find out the ratios of legislators from both parties who voted on these bills, and I should be able to get that up here soon.
Also, I have to say I'm not a big fan of the military budget cuts, I was listening to one of Obama's speeches, and he mentioned cutting military budget and that ticked me off a bit.
I updated my previous post.

Here are some of the bills that have been blocked: Health Care for 9/11 first responders, would have provided health care for 9/11 first responders that have become sick, I want you to see why the Rep. blocked this measure. As they where all for it, however they where asking on how it was going to be paid for www.nytimes.com/2010/12/10/nyregion/10health.htmlVeterans' Jobs bill, Again same thing. However in this bill it was sought that there are 6 other Gov Programs for training Vets and getting them back to the workforce. Again you need to have money to fund programs. Im a Vet and I know that there are programs out there for the retraining of Vets to better suit the work force www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/09/20/veterans-jobs-bill_n_1897377.htmlOil Spill Liability, tpmdc.talkingpointsmemo.com/2010/07/gop-prepared-to-oppose-dem-energy-bill-over-oil-spill-liability.php After I read through this I see that they as in Rep's would like to see it based on the depth of water you are drilling in.Political Ad disclosure bill (blocked twice). All this has to do with is ID'ing people who donate large amounts of money to any political party. Which unless that person/company wants to make it public, they should be allowed to keep who they are private. www.bostonglobe.com/news/politics/2012/07/16/senate-gop-blocks-efforts-expand-disclosure-political-donations/D13bNthsQurNPA8rIgwbyJ/story.htmlI will post more info about these bills soon. My reply's are in bold print in the post here. Again Alot of this is not that Rep's dont want to get on board with a program, they just would like to know how the new program is going to be paid for. Remember everytime a new goverment program is created, it is going to be funded with tax payers $$. And in this day in age with anout 48% of the population not paying any form of federal taxes will sooner or later you are going to run out of the paying the taxes and the country/programs going broke.

Well then why can't everyone sit down and think about a compromise for the First Responders bill or even amend current bills so then maybe they can get health care?
As for the Veterans' Jobs bill, I guess if there are already programs in place then this bill isn't essential right now.
And I would agree about the Ad bill, if there weren't a lot of corrupt organizations out there trying to get their way, and besides I think it would be good to see exactly who donates to both parties.
