I really hope this guy doesn't end up going to prison. They brought him up on 6 Possession With Intent To Sell charges.

This is stupid, if the law says that he shouldn't have them there then he shouldn't have had them there, but I don't understand why they are making such a big deal out of this.

New York makes a big deal out of it because they are known for a crime problem, so they come down on every little case in order to discourage those that would

I find this kinda dumb lol + the "ak-47" and all the other guns should have had a tip on them (for being on campus)

His G36 looks low quality too. There's no way he would rationally try to sell it for $500

Sorry for reviving this, but in the news defense, A G36c is considered a Carbine. I dont think this guy was doing anything wrong, he wasnt pointing it at anyone, or trying to convince people its a real gun.

However ridiculous the rules, he should have known the consequences.

I'm curious to know why my post in this thread was deleted? I'll reiterate my comments: I think that government has more inportant things to worry about than airsoft guns, this coming from a member of law enforcement. If a MOD would like to tell me why my original post was deleted, I'm all ears.

It's just pathetic that their making such a big deal about airsoft guns and saying their still harmful, whats so harmful about a little welt their is no need to arrest him all they should of did was made him put and orange tip on them and put them away or take them off campus.

I believe the big deal was he had them on a campus. Firearms, including facsimiles, are illegal on the campus of his school (and any school receiving government funding). He had them there, he was breaking the law. The heavy charges are to discourage people in the future from making his mistake.
