Yes 1911's maybe old and everyone uses them, but tey look old because they were made in 1911 (duh), they work amazingly sence they were releaced and havnt needed any modifications, and everyone uses them simply for that reason, so there for, bite me sir xD that is your opinion and this is not real steel so it comes down to the manufacture and what you want.

Well i saw 1911 and 45...not 1911 and 6mm...sooooo haha in the end, as long as it shoots a 6mm bb at my target im fine, idc if it has cool factor fps, as long as it hits well, im fine haha

foxtrot point taken I just don't like the top heavy feel of the m9 and its awkward slide, but thats just me.

Same, i love that the atp feels in my hand ad opperates, but still, 1911 feels best and i can opperate best, but ive only owned 2 pistols my airsofting days, i like that there is a huge varity but i hate that i cant have all of them haha, personaly i think the glock is a contender for the 1911 spot in my eyes, but havnt gotten to use one

I agree with you until the glock cheese I don't know about airsoft glocks but the real steel ones are all plastic until the slide which makes them super top heavy.

Its the same with airsoft, as far as i know, its a plastic lower and a metal slide, which if it was a problem, why would they be in production, with various models? But all im saying is 1911s are a classic, a staple, a reliable weapon, i think glocks would be also but sence i havnt got to play with one i wont be able to tell

I agree with you totaly I is just my prefrence to have a well balanced gun that way I don't shoot right or left becace the gun is top heavy. just my personal prefrence, I know some people that like that feel it all depends on the oporator.

so how come the m9 is the military's main pistol and no longer the .45.

Because its cheaper and the military doesnt care if there guns are reliable or not. Same reason why we still use fhe m4 and havent switched. There cheaper.

Berreta are some of the most reliable pistols out there and the other main reason was because some of our soldiers couldn't handle the recoil of the .45 so the 9mm was adopted and it can't be that bad if every soldier has one.
I'm done arguing i'd rather have an m9 over a 1911 for multiple reasons...etc.

The Beretta is one of the worst pistols. The slide and feed ramp causes it to jam a lot. Also, the 1911, was used for almost 100 years. Also in world war 2 the Thompson was chambered for the .45 acp and the soldiers who carried it loved it. The recoil isn't an issue.

Oy. Let me just end this before it gets out of hand... To each their own. You both have your reasons for liking what you like. I am not a fan of either. I prefer HK weaponry because it is some of the most reliable weaponry on the market... plus it's German engineering. Double win
