14+ unless vouched for by a player who is 14+ or a "known player" could be the way to go. It's very common with other fields and hosts across MI. I like that idea. Then I could bring my 12yr old brother with. I think that this would hold back most of the little kids in there with rentals or shotgun.

After reading through this I can tell you that the younger crowed or the "little Kids" is whats the bulk of KA's business. Now I know it can be a hassle to play with all of them in there on the weekend, however that is the nature of the beast. I also dont see KA only having one day when it is for the younger kids, as this will reduce their bottom line and that is not a good thing for KA.
Now the best way to go about this, is several ways.
1. Get a enough people that would come out and play at a later time say 6pm-midnight or something like this when it is only for the older crowd, say 17 and up. If you can do that and show Chad that you have the numbers to support this, well he might just allow this to happen and then you will have a time frame that is ment for the older player. I do this here at the TAC, Tactical Airsoft Center here in Washington where I play CQC. Less little kids due to the later times.
2. Rent out the airhouse and only make it for the older crowd. Again you will eliminate you problem.
You need to face it,these young kids that drive the business for KA, untill that changes they will be what dictates the play. I would sit down with Chad and see if you can work something out. I'm sure he would be more then willing to work with you guys.

Okay so what is it that most of you guys dislike about younger players despite there age? If they are not calling hits, then tell them, let them learn something. But also I see some of older players not call its because they are wearing there plate carrier and can't feel it. And as far a maturity goes there is no age when you become mature.

Derpy i believe it has more to do with the fact that a lot of them wont push up with the rest of the team and just stay back ( dont work as a team)

I am 43 you are all kids to me I don't mind "Kids" as long as they have good sportsmanship, follow the rules, and call their hits. But with that said, I usually come on Sundays just because there seems to be an slightly older crowd.

I stopped airsofting because of all the little kids. If the age was raised to 15+ i would for sure start back up.

You can hear the hits on your gear. A lot of the kids will ne to scared to get shot and tend to sit back and do nothing and just.eventually get in the way of the more serious players who enjoy the battles and working as a team to win the game and have a good time. I feel kids should stick to the running around in the back with guns that won't make them complain about getting hit.

I think in some regards you need to help push these "kids" to make them better. You cant blame them when they see someone that is older, all geared up, with more experince than them, come charging in at them. It is a bit scary for them. This is where the Vets need to take these kids and help them, encourage them, not be little or yell at them.
Think about....

I agree that it can be scary for them but we all see airsoft as the fun tactical experience that some wished for to do in the military but can't for medical reasons. They should do like 3 days out of the week for the younger People and a day or few to teach them how to play, etc.

Here's my last .02/rant on the subject.
My group makes a yearly pilgrimage to KA and we've had good and bad experiences with a younger team. Every time it has been good we had to order the younger players to advance to get anywhere but they usually listened pretty well and it boosted their confidence to play better the rest of the day. That was the case last year and that's fine. This year not so much. There was less cqc airsoft and more "codsofting". One round there were two kids on my team who went out with a pistol and rubber knife. I've seen people use strictly pistols before with great success. Scorcher from MIA is a prime example, but he carried 4 pistols with 2 or 3 Mags each, not 1 pistol with 1 mag good for maybe 20 shots. Another thing I saw was a bolt rifle. As much of a challenge it is for the user "cqc sniping" is a huge force reducer. Sniper rifles have an advantage at other fields where they can shoot faster. At a cqc field all you do is reduce your effectiveness. All rifles have the same range potential and any accuracy advantage will be offset by the reduction of volume of fire.
All in all the younger crowd is alright when given the proper motivation by more experienced players, however the devolution from tactical team play into CoD style every man for themselves brought down the overall experience for my team.

I know the two people your talking about were on my team for last weekends event. The knife was mine too haha.
On to the topic at hand. Many people come into this sport thinking it won't hurt and it'll be easy. What most don't anticipate is that it does hurt and it will only be easy if you work as a team. Case in point when I told some kids to stay at our position and simply don't get hit. I got hit and when I come back to help them out they left and ran back to me loosing what ground we had. I believe that they simply don't listen anymore so when the rules and such are told then everything goes out the other ear.

Hmmmm....Let me remind all of you that we were once (Those little kids). I agree the kiddies can get somewhat obnoxious and annoying but it is our jobs as older players like myself to teach them the ways of the force per say. I'm always very patient with them when they come up to me and haev a question on why there gun is not working. As i myself when i was younger threw my guns at anyone that even looked like a tech and said "WHATS WRONG WITH MY GUN". To some i was annoying but eventually through years of airsofting...trial and error...and silliness I became the player I am today.
So If you have a little munchkin come up to you with a question help them. If you see one get hit and not call it or not following the rules tell them (Calmly) what to do and point them in the right direction. The kids are our next generation of airsofters. Lots look up to the older players believe it or not and need to be taught the right way to airsoft, to have fun and not cheat.
Also, Maybe I can talk to Chad and have him come up with something like a 16+ year and up event at the last sunday of every month.
Just my two cents.

Maybe there could be a "new to airsoft 101" day where you have a lower than normal price for kids under a certain age and have some experienced, well mannered, and mature players come out to help give some of the younger kids a new look into as Sapper said it, "The Force," just so that we can educate them in a calmer environment. Any thoughts?
