Calling all creative airsofters. I challenge you to post your best bunker idea. This can be displayed in any format, such as a youtube video, photo, drawing, or just a description. This is a group effort to continue our plans to add new features to the airhouse in the future. Dont get too elaborate though. No full sized castles or anything.

Are you thinking more for the inside or the outside or for either?

Here is what Im thinking go to the far back left corner of the outside field, as your looking at it from the airhouse.
Clear out a nice area and build a nice two story tower of sorts in that back corner. Im talking concrete the supports into the ground to give better stability, along with either a ladder to stairs that would go up one side to get to the upper area. I could go into more detail later, when I am there on the 20th.

I guess the real question that should have been asked first is... Are you allowed to dig into the ground? I think that should be established first and fore most.

I would actually love to see some trenches with some kind of mostly underground bunker with just firing slits/windows above ground. I'll see if I can mock up a quick CAD sketch tomorrow.
Edit: what are the dimensions of the space outside?

The problem with digging is two-fold.
1) There are a lot of cables and pipes buried in the outside area of play. Those could pose a problem
2) When you have an open hole, it is a water magnet. Anytime it rains, you will get water pooling in the bottom which could go away, or could sit there stagnant.
The latter is the main reason I never did any in ground bunkers out at the Farm.

Cables and pipes could certainly be a problem, but I think that could be avoided by calling miss dig. As for the water, I'm not sure what the ground is like there, but my house, which is just a mile away as-the-crow-flies has clay for about the first three feet, then it's all sand. Sand tends to drain pretty well. Not that trenches are a good idea - I can actually see them being a problem from a safety/liability standpoint - but I'd still love to see them.

I like ratchets idea. Easy and doesn't dig very deep in the ground, add a couple in on each side and you should be good

My thoughts exactly. Plus trying to keep the inside clean for you guys would be a pain when everyone is tracking gobs of mud in. I am still looking to get some sandbags in to create some bunkers with and line the road we are creating.
