Weve all been there. When the enemy team gets the drop on us and they controll all of the outside. Its frustrating, though it is part of the game. What I was thinking that if the enemy teams control the outside for most of the game or whenever the refs feel like being random, the announce over the mic "NUKE HAS BEEN DROPPED IN ZONE A!" (Say the left side was A and Right side was B). Everyone of the left side wouldnt be considered dead, but just had to go back to base to respawn. That would take care of the outside being so hard to get control if they got lucky or someone flanked. Plus, the refs could say "NUKES DROPPED IN BOTH ZONES!" Making everyone run inside and try to reset themselves. I think it would add some excitement and randomness to the game. Tell me what you guys think.

Sometimes when the game has gone too lopsided early in the game the refs will do something like that. We don't call it "random nuke" but we will have the guys outside come back to spawn without a death to give the other side a chance to fight for the outside. We don't do it very often (it usually happens if there is a balance issue when a lot of people leave in between games) and it doesn't always work. I've seen the entire outside be cleared of the holding team only to be retaken by that side again within 3 mins. Thanks for the input though, we're always looking for ways to make KA more fun and fair.

PS: An idea might be if we ever assigned team leaders is to have certain "game pieces" available to be used at the leader's discretion. Something akin to the "nuke" idea or "airdrops" or some other game altering event that might help get a team out of a bind. That of course brings up a whole other problem though, how to choose a leader and what to do when disagreements between the "leadership" and the "grunt" break out.

Just to throw the idea out the team leaders could both get a one time use outside spawn where everyone dead at that moment gets to respawn in the far back corner of the outside for one time only.
