Wow, I was seriously wanting to go to the airhouse since there isn't anywhere to play near me. After hearing these stories, I'm not sure if I want to make the 90 minute trip up there, which sucks, as I really want to find a place to play on a consistent basis.

Don't let these stories push you away. This thread by its nature is a source for bad situations and horrible stories. Every airsoft player encounters these during their time playing. If a thread was to be started thats purpose was to expose good stories/memories then it no doubt would be far longer than this one. Don't let a few bad apples ruin the whole thing. Bottom line: any individual who thinks it necessary to cheat/thinks they are cool for doing it is an infantile twat. Ban them, make them sit out a game, whatever. Just dont let them spoil the fun for everyone. |

Honestly the airhouse is the best place I've played. The refs are always fair and helpful. If you're going through this thread thinking you wont play because of the unfair play, a lot of people play fair every game I've played here has been full of sportsmanship. I drive an hour up here every weekend and I never leave unsatisfied.

Only time Ive left their unsatisfied was when my gun broke, and I had to go single shot shotgun only(one of the Walmart ones). But that was my own fault and it was over a year ago. But the refs need to be more aggressive and watch for cheating, chrono more often, thats what this thread was meant to be about.

Nothing is more important to Hollis and I than a safe and fun environment for everyone. It is unfortunate that someone would suggest that we would allow a gun shooting 450 to be on the field. How he knows someone is shooting this speed is beyond me. Nothing is further from the truth. Our family plays at the airhouse and we are constantly in the line of fire. We have a personal interest in having everyone shoot within the legal limit. As far as the hit calling, we feel that the majority of players play fair. More often than not, the person shooting is mistaken that they actually hit someone when the opponent is not calling a hit, or the person being hit genuinely doesn't feel it. This is the nature of the sport we play. We have NEVER witnessed someone not calling their hits, and let them continue playing. We are doing our best to watch every player on the field. We are just two humans, not super humans. From here forward, here is how we are going to address this. FPS limit will now be 360 with a .20. We used to do an average of a few shots to make sure you were right around 350, but that will no longer be the system. If your first shot is near the 360 limit, we will have you fire a few more. If even one of your bb's chrono in at 361 or higher, your gun will not be allowed on the field. PERIOD. We will then zip tie your gun to show that it has been chrono'd. Everyone can look at anyone else's gun and see that it has passed the legal limit. We will periodically do random chrono's. Last but not least, DRESS APPROPRIATELY FOR THE SPORT OF AIRSOFT. Thank you to everyone that knows Hollis and I, and know that your safety is in our best interest.

This sounds awesome. I am very glad that this rule is being placed, and I hope I didn't come off on the wrong foot with my earlier post. I love the airhouse, and know that you guys do a great job running it. I would continue to play there no matter what rules are in place, I was just trying to save you from losing buisiness from the MiA community.

I've seen people shooting over 450 fps guns If what you say is true and you had a chrono in your hand, why didn't you tell us? I would of kicked them out immediately for purposely cheating. Sleepy- We are very disappointed that you would let that person continue playing on the field and you were the only person who knew about it. If anyone EVER notices someone trying to sneak a hot gun on the field, PLEASE come to a ref immediately! I will give you a free entry or cookies! |

I don't care what they say over there, They hate us because we know Doc, he is not ever been an employee but just because we "know him" that's to much to them. We have had many teams from MIA come up to us and the end of the day and say "Thanks for the great time, you guys have made the airhouse 200 times better and we will be back!" If they are being hater's, let em' hate. Someday they will realize we are all doing the same thing. Also, and this is for everyone. We have been open for over 1.6 years and in that time there has never been one fight, maybe some verbal arguing sure but never a fight. If anyone ever touches someone else, be prepared to be thrown out and possibly banned for a certain amount of time depending on the situation. |

After reading the responses from Loony and Infidel and messaging Infidel directly, I feel MUCH more comfortable! I was just concerned as there's no where near me to play on a consistent basis and even though it's about a 1.5 hour drive, I have no problem drivng to the Airhouse on a consistent basis. However, I didn't want to make a trip like that if what I was hearing was true. After hearing the responses from other members and the owners, I'm all in and look forward to trading some plastic with everyone very soon!
