I'm looking at a g&g raider and it is 340-370 fps... Is that ok on the course?

If it chrono's at 350>= you're set, otherwise you might need to get a spring replacement.
Limits are set to prevent any sort of injury. The difference between 350 and 351 may be next to nothing, but then people can say "well, if 351 is allowed, then why not 352?" and so on and so forth.

KA is pretty good about working with guns that shoot over 350. Mind you, you really should have one that's 350 +- 10fps but if you're over by 30 even 40 fps they simply extend your minimum engagement distance. My gun consistently shoots 385-390 so it's understood that I avoid shots within 20 feet. Combined that with the fact that I'm not a bullet hose and it's good to go. That being said, I will be getting a different spring after Origins to bring my fps more in line with their standard.

I run a raider myself it chrono'd out of the box right around 350 and after about 1000-1200 BBs the spring will have bedded in and your FPS will drop so if its over it wont stay that way.

Now granted I dont play at the airhouse as much as I used to when it first opened, however what you are telling me and others that you are allowed to play with a considered "hot" AEG just so long as your engagement limits are increased. So what that is not only saying to me, but others as well that it is okay to break the rules and have a "hot" FPS gun as long as you engage at a greater distance.... Yes, I did see you are getting a spring change to lower your FPS, which is a good thing, but out of wondering, how long have you played like that for?

I started playing about 2.5 months ago. So I'm quite new to the sport. I'm by no means condoning breaking rules and wouldn't step on the field of the management was taking exception. A certain amount of common sense is used and some flexibility is required when you run a business where 50-60 people might be bringing their own equipment on a given day. I'm not trying to start some scandal here. My preferred play style usually involves taking longer shots so it's not like I'm aiming to hit someone at 5 feet with a hot gun. Terminal ballistics at range would bring the shots in line with the "standard".

I also do understand that you need to have some flexibilty within this business and such. I do commend you for being a smart player knowing that you are using something a bit out of scope of the chrono rules at KA. I also have to say that both Chad and Hollis do a good job at keeping to their rule set and promoting a fun and safe enviroment.

The short answer is no. The long answer is no because it most likely violates their insurance coverage. Someone gets injured with a hot gun not covered by insurance and boom, that's it for KA. There is a place in Lansing that got shutdown because there were pictures online of players with out goggles. Just remember that every time they allow you to bend the rules that they may be exposing themselves to great personal risk. Do them a favor and chrono under 350Fps.

I highly doubt a "hot" gun violates KA insurance.

I was looking into field insurance for a college project just a month ago. The companies I looked at required any CQB arenas to have a 350fps limit. I'm not saying it absolutely isn't covered, what I'm saying is that it may not be and that if we wish to see KA continue many years into the future that we should air on the side of caution.

Wraith is right. The same issue occurs with hockey rinks that don't mandate helmets. Insurance companies try to eliminate liability to avoid costly lawsuits, so I wouldn't put it past them.

In 13 months we have sold 73 Raiders. Every one of those guns except 1 averaged mid 340's with a .20 right out of the box. I love those damn guns! The only one that was over is Chads wife Sheila's raider, 360fps, but after 2 weeks it has settled to 340-348 and has stayed there for 4 months now. I cannot believe how good these guns are right out of the box. Hands down best entry level gun on the market, I will argue that any day.

I agree, G&G makes some of the best guns and even the stock gun internals can compare to some high level guns (stock ones)

Mine was 364Fps when I bought it from you back in September but mine has settled right at 350Fps.
