So I talked to Hollis a little bit about this. I love the idea and was really excited about it. BTR is talking about possibly taking this on but not necessarily at the airhouse. Logistics of camping and many other things really become difficult because of the lack of space. KA doesn't really own the parking lot next to the field and therefore I think there would be a lot of problems camping in it. And camping on the field outside or even inside would be a pain because everyday it would have to be moved or cleaned up for play. Also that area of town isn't the best and having a ton of people camping outside might not be the safest. Especially when things like stolen cars go flying through the parking lot. That's another story for another time.
There are still a lot of things that would have to be figured out and considered in order to actually get this in motion. BTR is planning on doing different events in partnership with KA and I think this would be right up our alley. We are a laid back team and this would be a nice laid back weekend of Airsoft. I will keep you posted as to the possibility and any other info. Whether it's BTR, KA or not a likely going to happen.

Nobody overstepped anything you had a great idea and everyone had tons of thoughts on how to make it a great event. I am really excited about this idea and want to make it happen. There is just a lot that has to be thought out and discussed with Chad and Hollis and that where I came in. We'll see...

I think it is a great idea as well, But I think it would be cool to get a group of guys together and go to the MIA hosted one. I feel there is too much disconnect in the state between communities and this would be a great opportunity to get eliminate the disconnect.

I generally go head strong into thing I really enjoy.
When I originally thought about it, I was thinking of it being a 1 day All day and through the night until it everyone is over it type event held once a month. Everyone bring there grills and whoever is hostingget a big pig roast for a sweet center piece. Everyone cook there dish and add it to the potluck. While that is all going on we airsoft, swap meet, and do tournament and different types of shooting events. End it with a decent size bomb fire and everyone get around it and talk war stories lol.The main thought behind this was to bring all these small community of airsofters from around the state together and maybe through radio/tv advertisement (maybe someone here has good connections like that)I know I`m way over thinking but I notice a lot of camera mounted to guns or helmets...I`m sure someone can cut/paste a pretty bad ass 30 second to 1 minute commercial to put get a lot of the people around the state who don't know anything about it. I have yet to meet anyone in my area or anyone I know who has ever airsoft. Everyone knows paintball but no one knows about airsoft. I'm sure that sounds crazy since Ive talked to a handful of people who has been doing this for years.
But yea I don't see why this cant be monthly and I would hope more groups/organizations would follow suite. I think its a great way to promote your business. I could go out with flyers and hand them out with a little note like: Bring this with you to the event get $5 off admission (or free if your looking to bring new people in. I imagine everyone is hooked for life after there first day of airsofting) and 10% off (or whatever keeps you happy) your purchase. Everyone loves a bargain and it could bring a lot of new players customers to your business and to the community helping it grow bigger and faster.

Just a thought. Why don`t people bring there grills anyways. Every weekend or every other weekend? We could set a goal for a money amount that would cover enough food for 60ish people plus drinks, plates, etc. During the week(end) gather donation from people towards the bbq.
Could even do a pizza week. $5 hot n ready all day! lol. For 100 people to have 2 slices would cost about $132 and some change with tax which is a fraction of the cost of a pig roast. Add drinks and sticks and your probably at around $200 which is about the cost of the pig depending on where you go.

Whatever ends up being decided on, it needs to be approved by KA staff. We need to make sure what we want to do coincides with what is good for KA and doesn't take away from their business.
