Well...Got a new gun today just for laughs and giggles and it was the ICS CAR-15 licensed by bushmaster. 150 bucks after a 20% coupon code and it comes with the battery, charger, 300 round therma-high cap, and the gun.
Let me begin to say this is my second ICS gun I've ever owned in my years of airsofting. I had an L86 and hated the thing because of the crap internals, however since i'm a much better experienced tech...I can fix alot more things now.
But anyways onto the gun, let me begin to say that this thing is entirely polymer EVERYTHING, excluding the split version 2 ICS gearbox. The gun is light weight and is a good CQB weapon and i'm quite excited to try her out at the airhouse. This thing is hitting at a consistent 315 to 320 fps. Opening the gun i found it had excellent air seal and the shimming was....not terrible...so i cleaned the factory grease out...lubed it up...and put her back together. Also this gun has the spring detentioner were the forwards assist is.
Externally I put a mock PEQ unit, fore-grip, and noveske sound amplifier on it and externally there's a high torque motor in there. I use a 10.8 volt intellect 1800 mah battery and wow...
THIS THING RIPS!
The pistol grip can get a little uncomfterable and the polymer... I'll admit i wish at least the body was metal but HEY! it's light weight. Also the mag release is way to plasticy
I plan on replacing it with an extended full metal one. ;D
