What's your guys opinion on it?? I personally love it,I always watch the history channel etc. And my gramps and I always talk about the end times and stuff. I feel it's one of the smartest things to do and worth the cash. Once I finish my loadout I'm going to begin prepping. I have thought of makin a group that preps together.

Their is nothing wrong with being a little prepared but the people who go all out and buy tons and tons of items for the end times, I'm sorry but they are pretty paranoid. The way I see it if your so paranoid about the world ending you should really get some help or better yet read your Bible. We won't get into a religious debate but you really shouldn't be living your life in fear of the end, they have medicine for that too.
Dooms day prepper show is about a joke, most of those people are not very good on putting their money where they should be...besides if your hordeing that much stuff why would you put it on a tv show? Where EVERYONE will find out where you live. I mean think about it \, their basicly saying WE HAVE ALL WE NEED PLEASE RAID US.

... We won't get into a religious debate but you really shouldn't be living your life in fear of the end, they have medicine for that too... HAHA that's funny. To add to the thread though I feel that if you have a bunker underground then you have your grave right their. Plus your money is going into the hope that this one certain event will happen. So unless you can get so much evidence that this one event can happen, possibly the event happening itself, than theirs no reason you should have your grave built into the ground.

The things you guys said is what I expected. Usually these people begin prepping because of certain events. I would rather have over the top with things than not enough to last me.

I've been prepping for several years now. It's a slow process since I'm on as much of a budget as anyone here but putting away for a "rainy day" has always been prudent. It's more about a general state of readiness than the sky is falling. Do I think some things are more likely to happen then others, sure. However I'll never claim to know the time, place or even event that might call these things into action.

Prepping is never easy....there are things to make sure is a "Must have" and things that take too much room or just needed but can't fit into the "mad dash" take off and run stuff. I've prepared myself since '91 and i still keep putting things in my "Bug-Out' bag. I guess the real test is...wait til it happens.

Yes!!! My grandpa always has about a years worth of food at a time. So I get experience with things.i was taught how to do things my self. I could repoint a house to an extent I could also re build the entire inside of a house since we re built ours I got to learn how to do it all. I know how go grow my own food and stuff based off of experience. In the next few months is going to be when I start my plan to prep. Do you guys happen to store seeds or have an aqua panics(idk how to spell it) system? I would personally love to maybe start a prep group that gets together that goes over these kinds of things. Also what techniques do you guys use go store your water and food?

My fiance and I have been gardening (manly ahh?) for the past few years. Mostly it's been for the purpose of learning as well as seed saving. If you're considering seed saving make sure they are non-hybrid heirloom seeds. There are many different places you can get them. After a couple years of collecting you don't need to buy anymore. With regards to water, you really need to figure out how much you use on average and then how long you think you'd be in an area. Of course things like natural sources and filtering are of concern. Also, water is HEAVY.
