WAIVERS: The waiver form must be filled out for the current calender year. For persons under the age of 18, a parent or legal guardian must sign before the player can play on the field. Waiver forms must be signed for each new year. To print out a waiver form, click on the tab at the top of the page. Do not forget to bring it with you or you will not be able to play. Waivers will also be available at the field.
AGE REQUIREMENTS: Because of the nature of this sport we require you to be at least 10 years old to play.
SAFETY FIRST: Full seal goggles are mandatory and strictly enforced. Any player’s eye protection not meeting the minimum requirements will not be allowed on the field. Full seal airsoft or paintball goggles must be worn at ALL times when in any play areas or non-safe zones. When on the field–indoors or out–NEVER lift your mask or goggles for any reason. If you are having a fogging problem or really need to itch your eyeball, you must return to the safe zone before removing your mask or goggles.
NO SHOOTING: No shooting of any airsoft gun around the Airhouse parking lot or the staging area! Your magazine shall not be in your gun until on the playing field. The ‘Staging Area’ is deemed as the NO FIRE ZONE. If you need to test-fire your gun, go out to the Game Field. This is the only designated area that you may shoot your gun. Approved eye protection is required anytime you are firing your airsoft gun. When in the chrono area, there must be a referee present. Magazines must be removed and airsoft guns cleared of any ammo before leaving the netted area.
TRANSPORTING YOUR AIRSOFT GUN: During the transportation of your airsoft gun(s) from your car to the staging area or vice versa, you MUST use a gun case or bag. If you don’t have one, use a jacket, blanket, towel, or something to cover it up. The parking lot area and the frontage road is in plain view of Reed St. For public safety reasons and in compliance with Michigan law, your airsoft gun(s) must not be visible to the public.
SPEED LIMITS: All replica airsoft guns will be chronoed (the measuring of feet per second (velocity) a BBs can travel, prior to all events on the Game Field. While on the field, only AEGs (Automatic Electric Guns) chronoing 350fps or lower with .20g bbs shall be used. Any replica that has a chrono reading over 350fps is considered “hot”. Only .20g BBs will be used for chronoing purpose; however, heavier gram plastic BBs may be used during games. AT NO TIME SHALL SPEED REDUCERS BE ALLOWED to decrease any gun’s fps to fall under fps limits. After guns are chronoed and tagged, do not change out springs, gearbox, nor perform any other modification to make your gun hot. All Refs/Admins and field management have the right to perform random chrono checks on any airsoft gun on location.
ENGAGEMENT DISTANCES: For any airsoft gun, the minimum engagement distance is 3ft. Once the minimum engagement distance for the primary replica airsoft gun is compromised, the player is encouraged to transition to a pistol or knife.
NO BANG KILLS: A player can not run into an area and yell “Bang, you’re out!” Each player must be tagged or hit by a bb to be considered out. The only exception to this rule is if a player sneaks up behind another player, that player then can say “surrender.” The person has a choice to surrender or turn on him. If the player tries to turn, you may shoot. If the player surrenders, he loses one of his lives and must go back to spawn.
RICOCHETS: Ricochets do not count at the airhouse and do not properly simulate real-world physics. Only a bb traveling from an airsoft gun directly to the body counts as a “hit.”
FRIENDLY FIRE: Getting directly hit by a bb from either team counts. Play this rule with honor.
GRENADES: Grenades are permitted on the Field. They can be anything from the AI Tornadoes that spew out hundreds of bbs when detonated, Thunder Bs that make a loud boom, dummy grenades you buy, or self-made grenades. Do not throw any grenades through the “imaginary” roofs of any building structure. If a grenade lands in front of a bunker or building, the airsofter/s behind it are “safe.” If an active grenade does not detonate, it is deemed a dud. Mere tennis balls, taped-up tennis balls, baseballs, and the like will not count as a “kill.” They may, however, be used to confuse a player.
RPGs: Non-Pyrotechnic RPGs (Rocket Propelled Grenades) are permitted on the Field. Always aim your RPG at the side of a building and not through any window, doorway, or at any airsofters. If you hear a loud “thump” while in a small structure, you got “hit” by the RPG, and you are out.
RIOT SHIELDS: The use of personal defensive “Shields” are permitted. When using a Shield, you have the option to use a pistol.
KNIFE KILLS: The use of training knives, Airsoft knives, or home-made replica training knives are permitted on the Field. NEVER use a real knife during any airsoft games at the Field. The use a real knife will result in an automatic ban from the Field. When conducting a “knife kill” on your opponent, lightly touch them with your replica knife. Do not use excessive force. To get a confirmed knife kill, you must use an item that resembles a knife.
KNIFE KILL LEADER BOARD: Getting a knife kill is awesome, and we here at KA would like to keep track of your stats by preparing a leader board. If you get a knife kill, the person who got knifed must let management know for it to be confirmed and posted. The only exception to that rule is if a REF witnessed the kill, then it is immediately confirmed.
BLIND FIRE: Blind fire is defined as simply firing without recognizing what you are firing at. Blind fire includes, but is not limited to: firing around corners without aiming; ducking under a window while firing through it; using a team member as a shield while shooting. In essence, if you can not put physical eyes on the target and its background, you are blind firing. You must present yourself as a target to your opponent(s). Always aim down your sights and acquire your target through those sights before firing. Hip firing is allowed for pistols.
NO CONTACT: There shall be no contact from any airsofter while the game is ‘on’ at the Field. This includes, but not limited to; shoving, pushing, knocking your opponent down, hitting, or kicking. The sport of airsoft is, primarily, a non-contact sport.
CHEATING: Don’t cheat. It takes away from the game. Always play with honor, If you are hit, then call yourself out. If you think you are hit, then go ahead and call it. Refs and Admins may perform random “Honesty checks.” Other examples of cheating would include: Not going to your respawn point; going back into the game when you have used all your lives; altering your gun to make it “hot” from the Field’s posted FPS limits after it has been chronoed; using another gun that has not been chronoed and tagged.
UNSAFE MANEUVERS: No one here is Chuck Norris, so do not try any moves that may be unsafe, unless you ARE Chuck Norris… Well then it’s fine.
REFS AUTHORITY: Field Refs are the authority while at the Airhouse. Do not argue with any Field Ref. His/her job is to monitor the play area and make the game as fun and fair as possible. We are all human and we do make mistakes but the Ref’s decision always stands.
SHOW GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP: Respect other players, animals, buildings, civilians, etc. Pick up your trash and place it into the proper containers. Please keep the Field clean!
BUILDING LIGHTS: Help keep prices and fees down by not shooting at the lights in the building. Any players shooting at lights or intentionally causing any other damage to the property of Kalamazoo Airsoft or other players will be immediately removed from the building without refund of any fees.
